A downloadable game for Windows

This is a story about a man, who wakes up in a ruined city and the fate of this world. Most of the humans have fallen to the corruption of abyss, a darkness that swallows this world. The remaining humans have build a city, a Sanctuary, near a crack in dimension which leads to our world. Thanks to the light from our world that leaks throught the crack, the humans can live in relative safety, at least for now. As the humans were building the Sanctuary, the creatures of abyss were getting stronger and now, they are strong enough to attack the gates of Sanctuary.

The visuals are splendid! I found a few glitches (pressing A while holding down D makes the sprite change direction , direction keys won't change which way I am facing). All in all , I wish there was a jump/evade or roll mechanic to make it seem more interactive! Good job on the game!

Thank you for playing, I am glad you enjoyed it.

Thank you for reporting the glitch, I think where is the problem and I will do my best to fix it.

Thanks to not having a deadline I can focus on basic things once again so I am currently learning more about 2d movement. So I want to completely rewrite the movement system and I want to add jump and roll mechanics.

Wish I could have jumped. Visuals nice. I didn't like that I had to stop using the keyboard to switch to the mouse to click on the bottom right to skip dialog. E or space would have been nice but they reset the dialog.

Yeah the jump function would truly be nice in there. That is also a good point that I didn't think of, definitively something to add/change and remeber for the future.

Thank you very much for the feedback.

np, would like feedback on https://noahmastro.itch.io/valiant-evangeline

Of course, I already put it in my collection of jams to try, so I will surely check it out.

I like the story and the visuals! (Though -- the art for the player character doesn't seem to match the NPCs? Not a huge deal though.) I liked that I was able to get behind enemies to attack them more efficiently, and the animations were all very nice.

It isn't strictly necessary, but it's a little strange playing a sidescroller without a jump button. And the UI on my screen didn't seem to be in the right place; the health bar was an inch or so away from the left and bottom edges, and the dialogue box ended up underneath that.

Yeah I had to use assets I found on itch, because we didn't have pixel artist on the team,  but yeah they don't really fit together, that is true.

It is little bit strange not having a jump button/function. Sadly it originally had a jump function, but it was glitching way to much and I had to scrap it, to have time for other functions. From your description, the UI is certainly not in the right place. Thank you for telling me about it I will check it on and hopefully fix it as soon as possible.

I want to continue learning about 2D development and I will probably use this game for it, so I will add it there later in the development.

Hey, that's alright.  And I get you on the jumping; I had a lot of trouble with that too. It's deceptively complicated.

Yeah it looked relatively easy, but then the glitches came and I had no idea how to fix them :D

btw if possible, could you send me a screenshot of the bugged UI? either on my email (elionsylwin@gmail.com) or on the discord server for KoA (https://discord.gg/dmuZuU2). Thank you
